Nothing special. I downloaded and beat the game about a year ago. Pretty average. Farcry beat it to market half a year early. People have been downloading copies for over a year. Graphics are ok, sound is ok. AI is ok. Whatever. Game ran fine on an nvidia 4600 a year back. Nothing to hold your breath over. I give it about a 7.5/10. Valve is retarded.

I don't know if you can call it an opinion when he's so blatantly and utterly wrong. He's done nothing to form an opinion on HL2- anyone who bases a review of a final game off a stolen build riddled with holes is so stupid they should get a job in politics.

Of course, as said, he does have an opinion on a stolen build that's ultimately irrelevant to the final game.

No matter how wrong and unfounded it might be, its still an opinion.
 
The leak was ages ago. I don't think Valve just sat in their offices twiddling their thumbs.
Chances are, Valve wanted to change portions of the game.

Also, I thought the leak wasn't playable?

The leak was playable, albiet levels were unfinished (you could only play very small portions of levels (maps)), textures not fully developed, etc... not a good representation of the game. Code wasn't optimized at that time either, so gameplay was a bit choppy...

I doubt if anyone will base their purchase decision on this one guy's 'review'... Valve can sleep easy tonight.

Actually, it's not a valid one. His opinion is about the leak, which is a totally separate thing to the game HL2 itself.

If you read the blurb on the back of a book (and nothing else), and then went around telling people that the book was poorly written, boring, and had no character development... is that a valid opinion? Not at all. It's a load of bull, that's what it is :p

wow, there seems to be no cap on how ignorant someone can really be. :(

however it is merely one less person who will be playing and sharing in our HL2 experience, one less moron online to contend with too.

no point in doing anything about it (spamming him etc) since it merely is stooping to his level, let him revel in his ignorance, and miss THE best game ever concieved.

He can't beat the leak, it was unfinished and had no story line which you could just follow along. That IS pure bs.
 
have the full leak and there is not even a full game to play, only a couple maps.

There was a funny one on amazon, the guy was saying Doom3 was gonna be a genre defining classic, and HL2 couldnt because it had a story, it made me laugh when Doom3 was released with a 30 minute gunless intro sequence.

I suggest NOT spamming him. There is a good chance that he is baiting and that is probably not even his email address. He probalby listed someone else's address there and I'd pity THAT poor guy!

this guy is under the influence. you got cut HL1 some slck for godness sake it came out like in '98 it was the top game of the gaming busines. wait till he gets smacked in the face by HL2.

Heh, beat the stolen build... I dont know who knows the level structure in it, but its not exactly something that can be beaten.
