From what I can gather, I'd say the mortality rate in the operation should be practically zero (unless, of course, the doctor is drunk).

They usually put you under for those kinds of things so I bet they'll put you to sleep and you'll wake up and it'll seem like you only dozed off for maybe a minute. They might give you pain medication after if it'll hurt later. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
