I'm making a Cloverfield fan game, and I need help!

Hey, i'm making a cloverfield fan game, and I need some help. I'm not trying to copy off of Brad, the guy making Grayshot, and it's not like it's illegal to make a fan game when someone else is making one too. The game is called Colossal, a mod of Half Life 2. The story is, you are going on a trip to new york with your 3 friends. On the way back, something colossal attacks the city. We need an animator, a coder, a mapper, and a sound designer. By the way, i'm kind of new to modding, so far I have a 3d artist, a writer, and a concept artist. Please help!
 
Would suggest to join a different mod to get some experience before trying your own. This is bound to fail.
 
Here is the beggining of the game.

Jon Lee Michaels (Main)
Amber Lee Michaels (Supporting)
Brian James Riddle (supporting)
Aunt Susan (Supporting)

Jon and amber are siblings, and although Jon is the oldest, his little sister still looks out for him.
On October 17, Amber becomes 21 years old. As a celebration, Jon decides to take Amber to a new
bar that opened up, along with his friend, Brian. Jon and amber have known Brian since 6th grade,
and have been great friends. So, they meet up at Amber's house and give her a cake, a few minutes later,
the phone rings. It's they're aunt Susan, she calls to tell Amber that she has a gift for her at her
home in New York. Unfortunately, she is a little too sick to drive to their home in New Jersey. So they
decided to go pickup the gift together, and spend the week in Manhatten. Once they get on the bridge to
Manhatten, they turn on the radio. On the news station, there is a report that a subway station became flooded
this morning, but they did not now how it happened. Eventually, they get to their aunt's house and ring the bell.
They're aunt opens the door, and greets them all with a hug. She leads them to her garage and there lies a very large
object with a tarp on it. she tells Amber to take the tarp off, and when she does, she is amazed. It was a brand
new yellow Corvette. She Shreiks in joy of her new car, and thanks her aunt. Her aunt gives her the keys, and Amber drives
Jon and Brian to the nearest bar. After a day out in they city, they get a hotel room, and spend the night. The next morning
They all wake up, and Jon Makes them all breakfast. Jon asks Amber what she wants to do. She says that they should turn on
the news, to see what the weather is like. they flip on the TV, and turn to the news station. Theres some breaking news about
a giant hole in the street near central park. Residents near Central park, say that there was a very loud noise coming from
the street. One man sys that when he looked out of his window, he saw the street cracking, and the a giant hole appeared.
Jon, Brian, and Amber are all shocked by what they see. they decide to go back to their aunts house, and talk to her about it
since her house is close to that street. They get in the car, and start driving. When they get there, they open the door and
talk to her about it. a few minutes later, they feel a strong earthquake, they are all frightened. they put on the news to find
out what just happened. A helicopter is recording the street near central park, he is not close enough though. He can see between the buildings.
Then, he, and everyone elese watching become horrified. They see something huge between the buildings, it's dark
green, and very muscular, all they see is the shoulder and back. The camera mans final words were "That thing is Colossal!" before
what looked like a giant hand took down the helicopter.
 
"That thing is colossal!"
"That's what she said!"

Also, you need to work on the details. Do you even know the Cloverfield backstory?
 
Well you want it to be, or you'd just call it Colossal - A game about a big monster that attacks a city

It also sounds like a mediocre fan fiction. Work out a full script for every encounter, and for random civilians to say.
 
this is like a tribute to cloverfield. they're making a cloverfield game anyway. and this is only the beggining.
 
So what kind of 'action' will this have? The only thing I could see a Cloverfield game being is a survival game with a few encounters.
 
they closed off the island, and the military need everyone to go to the helicopter pick up area. along the way, the monster randomly attacks and blocks your path, and sometimes you get lost or attacked by the monster babies.
 
nobody knows any info on the cloverfield game, they didn't announce it officially.

It's not illegal to rob a bank if someone else is doing it too.

Wait... Which way does the law work again?
 
I am determined to create this mod for all to enjoy, including myself. I've made the hotel room in Valve Hammer. I just need some help with textures, doors, props, and windows.

I don't know why the cloverfield theme seems so exciting to these mod making dreamers. With Grayshot it's still got a HUGE way to go, talk about infancy of a mod, it's got a couple of maps and basic models last time I checked.

Why am I riled by them at this time you may wonder? Well they decided to recently bring out 4 or 5 viral websites for the mod, including blogs of the characters in Grayshot. Yet again, another mod missing the point of creating a mod, hyping it to something it will never be and trying to be something they'll never be. *grumble*

WRONG! They are parasites , the actual monster was the baby...

Edit: also its quite clear you slipped up and changed your mind at the last miniute , trust me im an expert at lying.

Actually, there is no baby
IIRC there is an interview with J.J. saying that it's just one monster
Plus, there's never a mention of 2 monsters, they always say 'it' or 'a' and things along that line
 
Whatever , i just remember reading a quote from an interview saying that the monster was just a baby.
 
We are not continuing with this mod. We will wait until Grayshot comes out, but until then we will still do some work on the story and the gameplay. We might even try a smaller mod.
 
Saw that coming, unfortunate nonetheless.
