Neptune. Basically speak to vodaphone, and whomever else you owe money too and explain that you're just not in a position to pay them back the money you owe them at present, but you would like to make an arrangement of some kind to repay the money over a mutually agreeable period. ?20 a month say.

If you do nothing, they will take you to court and then your credit rating will be ****ed pretty much forever, which will mean that even when you do get yourself back on the straight and narrow you will struggle to get approval for all manner of things financial and end up paying through the nose to finance companies who will handle high risk clients (because that's what you'll be classed as). The sort of companies that have 29% interest credit cards etc....you really don't want to be going there, esp over a couple of grands worth of debt.....

Just be honest with your debtors and come to an agreement with respect to repayments that is realistic. Ultimately they'd rather have money coming in some form, than not at all.

As for your personal life, basically ebay anything of worth you don't need to reduce your debt and just go near hermit for about 6 months once you find a job and keep expenditure to an absolute minimum. Going through lean periods is a fact of life, it makes you appreciate the good times even more. With regard to clearing the debts. Pay the necessary on all, but focus on the most costly and put as much extra money as you afford into reducing that asap, and work out when it should be paid off (give yourself a completion target, then try and beat it). Also give yourself a fun budget per week. An amount you can spend on yourself without feeling guilty, whether it be ?10, 20 or ?30 and try and stay with in it. If you spend less one week, you have extra the following. If you don't, the tendency is to splurge and that normally just turns into a cycle. Take control, don't be a victim.

Yeah and they will rule in the school's favor. It won't cost them more as they most likely have a lawyer on payroll to begin with so they dont have to find one to do casework. I doubt court fees itself will be more than you owe for them.
