-Now, for some weird reason, it's overrunned with ******* idiotic users, all babbling about the same old thing
-Even Badger doesn't feel like using the boards anymore since most of the topics are ******* stupid
-It's just not fun anymore...

I would rather work on my music-project with Simmo than post here anymore...

No sense deleting this, its not spam. Im just curious, but how do you think it could be improved? Im being serious, because if there i something wrong i would rather know what it is than drive more people away.

I find his comments interesting though, considering his warnings about those very same topics he's complaining about. Oh well.
 
Meh. I kinda liked Frank. He's the one odd person you got creating semi-interesting threads rather than the other mindless or outdated babbling you usually found.

Don't quite see how saying up yours is going to improve things. If anything it just moves him from the level of "halflife2.net" forum user intelligence to "hl2w0rld.com" forum user intelligence.

On top of that, what Sparrow said. Why not give us ideas.
 
i've kind of noticed that too. same old same old. still lurk and post every so often, just not as enthusiastically as before.

how the boards can be improved? if HL2 is released. but even sooner, UT2004 will be released, Far Cry etc...those will get the community together again i reckon.

Yeah exactly. HL2 news from Valve is the only way to improve the atmosphere around here. The excitement is non-existent and that's a driving force behind a healthy community. I have an analogy---> It's like being at a party after it peaked and everyones gone home or are drunk on the couch/floor. Only there was no party.....get it? HL2 was never released!! OMG!! si amazing!

If the owners of this site are actually concerned about this i'd consider taking action.

http://www.diabloii.net/index2.php is the perfect example of actively trying to keep the community interested. We could have guest articles from people discussing various HL and gaming related issues.

We could have art competitions that are promoted on the front page.

The HL2 mod news is a step in the right direction. But unfortunately no-one is going to really care until HL2 is actually out.

Yeah, I agree... Lately the quality of threads has been appauling... maybe as we get closer to E3 and when things finally start to happend that it will grow more intelligent?

Doubt it, we will get just bunch of whining kids, who will post how Valve sucks and HL2 is overrated or something to that extend. I remember September, Christ, all those people, all that bitching. I rarely visit general HL2 forums now because of that.

Who knows, I had a year to make friends here, and I still didn’t make any :) I mean, you guys golt all that IRC and MSN going, I am too lazy to even install that.

I do read the boards, I just don't post quite as much. The community is bored/uncreative. I miss Frank and his refreshing oddness ;(

I hope no-one else leaves.

lol well, I never use AIM or MSN, I tried IRC but no one talks... so I got bored...
For some reason this forum is my only home on the internet.. I'm here all the time.
Guess I should get a life eh? Maybe go outside? Well the weekends I have fun at least!
 
Yea I agree with frank too, these forums used to be so great but now they threads get more unintresting by the day. We gotta keep it alive though, we cant end up like gamers.com EGM forum where there is nothing but kids spamming by creating 30 threads a day of bullshit and the mods arent even deleting them! lol!
 
Well, what the hell has changed? It still seems the same to me. You guys tell us whats wrong with it, then we can all comply and return it to what it used to be. This forum can't die!!!! My social life can't afford it lol

I tend to agree. Its getting annoying with new members posting old news and old repeated topics.

Us oldies are getting to the point where we can't be arsed to post in those threads :(


I aint saying we should delete them all. That would scare them away. But we need something new that everyone can discuss....
 
posting actually takes up loads of my time. i wouldnt be suprised if lots of people eventually leave as all the hype about half life 2 has kinda been dying down lately. If i was to leave it would be because i had to do my GCSEs or somin and i needed the time. Plus theres a hell of a lot of arrogant / ignorant people here...

i hope no-one else leaves too.
 
Did you know, some guy declared me a god of this forum. It was around June/July last year.
(Damn, am I arrogant / ignorant or what?)

But I still wonder, why people always post about leaving? I mean, do they want some attention, so people would go “awww, you were a truly great poster and we will miss you”? I guess it helps your self-confidence.
 
i don't think frank really cares whether people want him to stay or not..i think he just wanted to let us know why he was leaving in the hope that we might look and change a few things...
 
I guess its just strange leaving without a goodbye...

Its hard not to get slightly irritated when new people bring back news from times a past ABOUT FOUR MILLION TIMES.....


But yeah, for the most part this forum is very friendly to everybody.

I bet this place will pick up in the summer....Quite you southern hemisphere people. I remember back when all was hot and sweaty(Even though that was basically just part of Europe that had a heat wave), people were more vibrant but when it got to september, it all went sour.
