I'm selling my bass to raise cash for a pc...

Unfortunately a lot of music is made by a computers, SearanoX.

But there's nothing like the feeling of a genuine bass in your hands and you improvising some tunes on a rainy day.

i'd not sell it either, just to get a new pc. i mean i am an pc addict ;D but selling instruments for getting a new one would be beyond the line for me. i'd rather try to find some work, earn $500-$800 and get a decent new one that's about a year old. no need to shell out $2000 now for hardware that's like $1000 in 5 months.

I'm supposed to get a job soon and I don't like this one that much-I figured I'd sell it now and get a new pc, then get my job later and buy a bass that I like, y'know? Makes sense to me.

for ****s sake, gaming pc's are a waste of cash, you're always gonna need new crap to play the latest graphic wankathons, get tetris/chess and be done with it

unless that money is going into a music pc to make some cool ass electronic music, keep the bass, it's a ****ing awesome instrument

Agreed...PC equipment needs upgrades constantly. What you bought 2 years ago to play on ultra settings will probably only run medium on the newest games. And even less in the years to come. Keep the bass, play gigs with it, and get paid for them, then when you have more spare cash just upgrade your PC...just my 2 cents

**** the computer. Seriously. Keep the bass. You'll be better off for it in the long run, I promise you.

Well I think his plan makes sense. I guess it depends on how much you enjoy playing it.
Personally, I would put a nice PC before an instrument, but only because I don't enjoy making music a whole lot.
If you don't like that one much, then I think it's a good idea to get a PC now and a nice new bass soon after...
It looks like you've already made the decision anyway, mrkab00m. If you're unsure about what to buy for a PC, don't hesitate to ask in the hardware/software forum ;)

If that's the case... I'll take it :O maybe. I dunno if I can afford it. But I'd take the amp too.

Keep the bass and upgrade later. Trust me. As the son of a bass addict, I've seen the pain of selling an instrument prematurely. It always leads to regret in the end.

have fun not being a famous rocker...:(

I on the other hand woule never sell any of my guitars, except my crappy electric. Its a peavey and maybe the worst guitar ever made. Just got a new Ibanez and its sick

I could never part with my guitar.. ever

Same. The only way a guitar is ever gonna leave me is by smashing it on stage (or if I give it to a friend/family member as their first guitar). I'm not the eBay type... :O

Personally, I'd think of it this way: You upgrade your computer in order to reach a certain level of graphical fidelity. As your pc gets older and older, it maintains this level of fidelity through all the games that you play (negating engine optimizations). Then you upgrade again, 1-3 years down the road, to bump yourself up to a new level of fidelity.

Your graphics don't get worse. It's just that the upper bound keeps getting higher.

On topic: If you want to keep playing/making music as well, keep your bass and get a job. But if a new PC is worth the loss of your bass, then so be it, it's your instrument. Don't leave your decision up to the opinions of others, but don't fail to think it through on your own either.

Well, the thing is, the bass was given to me by my ex who I have a bit of a hatred for now. I would rather wait until I have a job and buy a bass that will really be mine, which I will keep until it just doesn't work anymore (lol)...

In the meantime, I'd rather have a pc to enjoy my current hobbies on, ya know?

Yeah, but I figured I might as well post it just in case.

I knew the emo guitar fans would protest, sell the stupid bass, buy a PC.
