Im Stuck Inn Half Life 2 Help

in route kanal , i am stuck in a rooom with pipes and water, a giant gate and on the other side of the gate is more water and yea i cant get a screen shot so if you can help me tyty

go into the room with all the pipes and if you jump down there will be a pipe with a valve on it. the rest should be easy to figure out.

Hehe...I was stuck in the same exact spot. I went nuts trying to figure out what to do. I did see the valve there, but I assumed it was a prop. :E

This is one problem I have faced in several other places in the game. Sometimes objects that you can manipulate arent clear enough, so I end up wasting way too much time trying to find my way out.
