I put my cpu on sale which is:

3.06 ghz P4
Socket: 478

Ok, I set the price for $200 thinking no way I'm going to sell this crap for that much but just doing it for fun. Ok few hours later I check my email and see that like 10 people are interested in buying it.(!) I came to think why do they want to buy it for so much when they can buy a new 3.2c for almost the same price?

Anyone knows why? I allways thought my cpu was crap.

urrr..... why ask that question to us? Woudln't it be better to just think about it logicly or even just ask the customer.

Sell it ! NOW!! If someone wants to pay you more than you deserve, the most important thing is: "Never ask yourself anything regarding the price." Thinking makes you lose money :)

:)

I'm asking because I want to know if I shall keep it or not. I'm currently not in need of money. But I can sell it and buy 3.2c. :)

what do you think?

try to get more money for it, most likely they want it because they think they can overclock it.

especially after i just told u amd is better...u want to upgrade from 3.06 to 3.2 ghz....sigh. yea nex, go for it. get the 3.2c, ull be uber then.

Are you drunk guinny?

what he said has validicy, Nex. AMD makes a 64-bit processor that outperforms comparable Intel procs in games, and offers extremely competetive application performance.

Plus, for $200, you can get 3200+ which out performs the 3.2 in most tests.

no, let him go up another 180mhz. he'll see his amazing peformance difference and be happy. he'll win at life that way.

Why would anyone want to upgrade just 180mhz? That's overdoing it.

shhhh...he isnt supposed to know that.

But wait.....then he would also have to buy a new Mobo that supported amd 64, or is logic not allowed on this forum anymore? See, his version of the upgrade scenario, 180mhz though it may be, essentially won't cost him anything.

you guys don't get it do you.....I guess I have to explain.

By selling 3.06 ghz for 200$ and buying 3.2c, its like I get 3.2c for free. 3.2c is better than 3.06 ghz, it has 200 fsb, 800 bus speed and is a great overclocker. Its like I'm trading my 3.06 for that. Oh and about amd64 I AM going to get it but not now, when I do go for it I'll sell my cpu for 200$. Why not upgrade now you ask? Well the best Athlon for the price is 3500+ and costs 350$. Think about it if I were going for 3500+ I have to buy a mobo too and the price is up there when I can get 3.2c almost for free and it performs about the same as 3500+ when overclocked.

As you said guinny its best to buy Athlon next year.....

ok see u didnt explain that part. basically trading it then yes its worth it and upgrade to an fx-55 or fx-57 next year with a pci mobo.

You could get an Athlon 64 2800+ or 3000+ and then just get a decent socket 754 mobo and then you're set. Don't get a 3.2C when you can go Athlon 64.

Don't ever do what you like. Just listen to all the other that tell you to do other things.. /end sarcasm

Do whatever you want. People that get mad at you for buying something need to get out more. It's really nothing to start flaming about.. I think you should go for that 3.2c and overclock it :) I'm buying watercooling myself after christmas.

you guys are ignoring the fact that he said hes fine with the 3.2ghz, also maybe he doesnt want to spend the additional money on the mobo

Nex, exactly where are you selling this? I'd like to see how much my CPU could sell for.

Nex. AMD is better, you dont need no fugin 3500.
I've got a 3000, overclocked from 2gigz, to 2.4gigz, with stock cooling, and only 2700 ram.

I out score every cpu on Sisandra, granted it doesnt have any amd64s listed.

But it does have 3.6 p4.

Which i whore.

btw, 3000 is only 160$ now, i paid 220 just 2 months ago.
