no it's not.... methane's the stuff that comes out of gas taps and stinks right?

no, it's dead now. I belive it had batteries for about 3 hours of transmission, it wasn't a mobile probe. They got kinda luckly that they landed on something solid tbh.

Ya, it would have been pretty bad if it landed in a sludge pit or the ocean.
 
So they send out a probe on a several year trip only to actually last a few hours... man that sucks

lol working on the probe for 15 years, and it took 7 years from earth to titan :)

Actually it was built to float, if it had landed in the ocean it was designed to measure water movements, wave height, ocean composition, etc.

In a way it's a shame it didn't land in the ocean, they'd have recorded a lot more data.
