My project will be a Vietnam war MOD and I am one of the level designers and 3d artists. The title is still working but at the moment it is "Crisis: Vietnam" (Note: this is still a working title). This is a very new MOD and the first info on it was late last month. We have concept art and some early models done, but that is pretty much it. The website is working and I am looking into getting a real website instead of the Geocities one I am building. There are currently two members in this, my cousin and I. My cousin will be handling Public Relations and some other things here and there. This MOD will most likely be available for Call of Duty also, since we can test our models and all in Call of Duty.

I am in need of:
A programmer.
A 3d artist.
A texture artist.
etc.

Can you tell us a little about the features in the mod?

Well the MOD will mostly rely on teamwork. There will be an abundance of enemies that you can't kill all by yourself with out dying. I would like to strike the emphasis of having your best buddy die a few inches from you. This is one of the working scenes:

You are having a conversation with your friend. You hear the infamous mortar and you run for the nearest bunker. You are alive and so is your friend. After the mortar strike you go outside to inspect the damage and you see another friend of yours legless. You friend runs to get a corpsman and on his way he is shot in the stomach with a sucking chest wound. You run over to his screaming body and he says weakly, " Write to my Mom tell her I love her. Tell my wife I lo..." and he dies.

The Mod will focus mainly on the hardships of Vietnam and will offer a lot of fun and challenge if all goes as planned. There will also be drive-able vehicles and an array of weapons. And most of all it will be historically accurate. I have taken every book on Vietnam out of the library to do research and make sure is the way it happened. I want to do my best to make you feel like you are there and what the people at Vietnam went through.

Im not a fan of realistic war mods but you need something that is really new, like no other mod has. If you dont have that little extra feature, then your mod will be "just one of those war mods".

I like the dying part though... will it be coop?

I was thinking about Co-op. The network code will be too advanced but I am still considering. Also a feature will be you actually get to interact with you friends, that is why this dying thing will be a key feature to the game. Also not the same person will die every time. Not the same thing will happen again. It will have a large replayability. I am still thining about features and everything that will make this game stand out.

Thanks for all of your help Majestic. The MOD has a new and standing name today. It is "Operation Rolling Thunder".
Operation Rolling Thunder is a real operation that LBJ used to destroy major war industries in North Vietnam via airstrikes. This led to a major upscale in both American and Vietnam troops and in absolute war.
