if xen is getting involved and the ant lions are from xen then that is just plain awesome, the sides are looking like aliens, combine, humans
Yeah that looks what it's t'be - but I'm sure there's one or two surprises in store :naughty:

wow, it looks alot like a stripped down version of the guardian antlion.
I doubt it, I'm sure I heard that Race-X won't feature. And I'm almost positive they weren't the same as Xen beasties.

This is also being discussed on another thread I think. Hopefully Race X will be at least partially explained or hinted at in HL2, as they seemed a bit out of place in Op4 (funny how adrian sees them and gordon and barney don't). If not in HL2, then perhaps an expansion pack.

I was pretty sure that the idea was that, even after Gordon destroyed Nihilanth, another inter-dimensional rift opened up and hence Race-X and the Xen-esque landscapey bits in BMRF, which is also why that dirty squid-like-tentacle-type-thing boss came through at the end. You see?
Seeing as Adrian's episode goes past Gorodn's and Barney's, that's why you see it. I'd rather they weren't in it but then whatever, it's not up to me.

Nah, I always got the impression that they were slaves (I am a very intelligent fellow) and seeing as you killed Nihilanth, that effectively sets them free to ally themselves with the side that freed them (yours/ours/Freeman's/yougetthepicture) to fight their old masters. I am:
a) basing this on very little
b) saying it as if it had crossed no-one else's mind
c)an idiot

el Chi, I don't know when you came back but definatly C, man. (Kidding)

Yeah, the though crossed my mind, i kinda figured they were by the collars and thier names... the whole alien slave thing is a bit of a giveaway

But you see the first race-x aliens BEFORE you see gordon jumping in the portal to xen IIRC...

You're right, but I believe it's only once (when the big trooper one steals that scientist and kills a Barney). So perhaps that partly scuppers my thoughts. But I'm almost positive that Race-X have little to nothing to do with Xen beasties. Well, this is queer.

Race-X seemed more military in nature than the Xenians... the X Shock Troopers had separate weapons and could throw grenades, and they also had swarming troops (the Pit Drones) and Heavy Weapons Platforms (Voltigores). The most military thing the Xenians had were the Grunts, which seemed more like enforcers or alien policemen...
