while i am playing CS:S about every 10-15 mins it will boot me out of the game and come up with an error message saying "incorrect reading frame" and i will click "ok" and CS:S will close. it does this with Gary's mod 9, DOD:S, and all other HL2 games. i havent played any other steam game long enough to see if it does it with them too but im assuming it does. i just built a new computer this week and it does it on my old computer too. can anyone help?

there is some stuff on google about this. if youre using a linksys router try older firmware or something.

As Reaktor4 said, google seems to suggest that this is a problem with your router, bourne out by the fact that you are having this problem on more than 1 machine (But I assume the same router).

ok, so where do i get this older firmware? and is it just something i install? i dont want to mess up the lan for my whole family.

also, on the bottom of my router it says "BEFSR41 v.2" it is a linksys router.

i found this post on another HL2 forum

"The problem is caused by older and newer firmware's of this router, if you are using 11 or 41 you need to use the 1.45.7 firmware.

You can download a good 1.45.7 firmware from ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pub/befsr41/befsr_fw_1457.zip"

so i downloaded that and installed it.

I had the same problem, but once you get the new firmware going, you won't have any further troubles. I sure didn't.
