Looks just as mediocre as it played during beta. It took them this long and it still looks and seems like it plays the exact same.
****ty player animations, a few of the same ****ty weapon models, and maps that are either too difficult to play or don't flow and lack fun. It's a shame the wrong leader/developer left as he actual had a vision and common sense to listen to what the people playing it told him, he wasn't affraid to change what he wanted for the greater good of the mod/game. Instead they got stuck with Jeremy who started out well, but got arrogant, and stuck on a ****ty vision which he refused to modify. He cut too many corners, and instead of a realistic modern infantry mod you get a halfassed thrown together modern infantry mod with ironsights. Great Realism, laughable at best.
Affraid Pongles is really one of the only developers left who isn't a dumbass.
I'll still try it, for a few minutes.
The outlook looks pretty grim, im seeing patterns here both with the development, and how the dev-team conduct themselves that has usually spelled doom for mods in the past...
From the Red Orchestra forums - http://www.redorchestragame.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12217&page=7
Seems the mod team is full of dumbasses. I didn't realise some of the higher members of the team had left.
Meh, the majority of people on the Red Orchestra boards are constantly slagging off the mod and it's team, I'd imagine it has something to do with the INS mod's leader, Jeremy (the founder of Red Orchestra).
hmmm
I've been lurking on their forum (their community is a tad well crap to bother actually joining) and noticed that weapon jamming and suppressive effects are not included. That combined with small maps and short respawn times ... it looks more and more like a modern setting day of defeat. Run, run, gun, gun.
Two more days to find out, at least Project Reality 0.6 is coming out soon.
• You will be able to deploy the bi-pod if the weapon your using is equipped with one. This will reduce the recoil and give you better accuracy. But, it will limit you mobility.
• You will be able to rest the barrel of your rifle onto some walls and other objects, to steady your shots.
• Some bullets from certain weapoms will ricochet off some of the surfaces and objects. Ricochet bullets can still cause damage.
• Some bullets will penetrate through certain objects. (Bullet penetration)
When it gets released we need to get a group of hl2.netters together and kick ass.
As for weapon jams - how often does an AK or M16 jam (serious question)? I thought it's so rare it shouldn't really affect gameplay whether it's in or not.
I'm sure I read it was 700mb download?
In order to play Insurgency, you need a few things first:
* Half-Life 2
* Steam Account and Software
* 2 gb free on your Hard-Drive
* High speed internet access is recommended!
I'm sure I read it was 700mb download?
Feature-wise I think everything will be in. There will be some bugs, but none of them hurt your ability to have fun, and all of them will be sorted in patches.
We ended up getting quite a few features in that we didn't expect to make it smile.gif
The mod will be ~700mb
