This thread is like the interesting poses thread, but it's for contraptions. If you've got a machine you've made in HL2 you want to share, this is the place to do it. This is not the thread to post your Barney on Eli action screenshots!

I'll start the thread off with my watermelon crushifier:

i haven't done many contraptions yet (except for the coke machine on wheels with a canister up the rear).

I saw some guy had managed to make a fully controllable car.

And nobody, i repeat, NOBODY realy wants to see Barney on Eli. Get ur characters right! :D
 
 
I like the blurring in those pitcures, the scanner were good too

I once made my airboat fly with the ballons to the top of the map and snipe zombies with my annabelle (Grigori's shotgun). I could steer but not adjust how high/low I go :|
 
wait...so i havent download v4 or v5 yet
you can control stuff like scanners??
and whats with muahahahahhahahha?

Use the pistol, it attaches manhacks and scanners to stuff. I made the plane in building blocks hover with about 2-5 billion scanners, blew my ear drums though ><'

No, I used the Garrysmod pistol to stick them to the mellons. Secondary fire. I like to use them as companionship when i'm working. No matter how boring whatever i'm tinkering around with is, my scanner will alwayse be looking over my shoulder. Sometimes they even give me light when I need it!

Good stuff. Btw i just managed to get into the buggy and fly into the sky but its hard to do considering it flies away as soon as the balloons are attached. The best method i found (on gm_construct) is to leave it in the garage and attach the balloons till it lifts off the ground, then using the orange manipulator drag it out and bend the beam around till you are next to the door, then let go of the beam and press 'e' to get into the buggy quick. You will drift upwards (upside down usually) admiring the landscape in your buggy. (dont press and buttons to brake up there you will get out of it!)

I did something similar myself. I attached manhacks all around the airboat and charged into a flock of zombies! Good fun! :D

It's pretty fun to empty out all the mellons, and just ride inside of the thing all around the map. It would be easier to stear it if garry would implement individual cannister activation like JBmod, but make a floating mellon tub in JBmod? Impossible? That's what I thought!

Just use the manipulator to freeze the airboat/jeep/vehicle into position, then attach the balloons. When your ready just unfreeze the vehicle and you'll be flying high :LOL:
 
in the previous version of garrysmod i attached wheels to the big blue dumpster and created long manhack chains on one side of the dumpster. As soon as it found an enemy, the entire dumpster moved as if some angry beast towards the enemy, it was awesome
