Yeah bullet holes look good on walls, not on the ground though but that's just my opinion ;)
 
there is a cvar for the decal life and max number, set em both to 99999 and ur laughin :D
 
Yeah, decals disappearing or not is your choice, they only disappear when you set max decals low.
 
im sure those little tiny decals will hardly slow the pc down at all. why isnt it just set to max by default?
 
that pic shows the wannabe artist wearing two (smoke?) nades on his belt. i thought you could only carry one of each type
 
They are flashbangs (you can carry two)
Smoke grenades have green bands (not orange)

Looks like the maturity of the players won't change from CS to CS Source.

Shame.
 
When someone throws a flashbang/smoke gren is there an animation of the player taking it off their belt or does it just disappear?
 
the bullet holes stay for a fair while.. we drew a smiley face then wrote some names in bullets.. then we opted for the penis .. only then going back to the other wall did it notice the smiley face had gone!

everything was set to high etc..

we also piled up some barrles.. both threw grens in.. the first shot the barrels to the left.. the second grenade went off and span the barrels to the right.. VERY satisfying. Also one of the barrels went right over the wall to the other bombsite and crashed down

also!

We both stood about 2 metres away from a barrel laying on its side.. to tests the physics we both chose to shoot the barrel on the right hand side as we saw it in effect to make it spin .. on the count of 3 we unloaded and it did actually spin on its axis ..

also another cool thing..

i was at the top of the ramp on dust and dlittley down the bottom.. i threw my m4 on to the ground ( which looks really cool by thr way.. the gun looks heavy as it falls down.. ) .. he then threw a gren onto it .. it went off any my gun game flying back at me and re-equipped me with it :)

Also tested out the ragdoll effect by putting the bomb on top of the boxes/now baskets ad bombsite a .. i stood on the extreme ledge of it jumping .. when it went off i performed a swandive to the other side of the area and smashed into the wall ..

Tested standing on the ledges on dust then shooting each other.. at one point dlittley shot me in the head.. i fell back with both legs on either side of the wall then slid off..

cant wait to have an entire team at the bomb site standing on the bomb.. will make for some awesome funny moments :)

One other thing.. from the top of the ramp on T spawn theres a tire which most have seen sitting nively against the wall.. crouched behind it with a P90 and aimed directly at the top to give it some forward roll .. unloaded as it sped off rolling down the hill .. squeezes 2 more shots as it went to the top of it .. it rolled all the way under the tunnel and hit the wall at the other end..

gonna be fun that one as the CT's are looking for T's coming through.. .. a tyre comes rolling along instead

thnx for sorting that one out. I'd like to see proper animations for gun swaps/nade use etc. like in swat3 but i guess it wouldn't be conducive to good mp gaming.

also, i think i'd be much more impressed if someone carved me something pretty in css using their knife plz :thumbs:
 
I dont get it. What is the bullet holes supposed to make up? I really can't depict anything out of it..is it supposed to be a penis?

Yeah, the bullet holes are pretty good lookin'...only one more day till I get to try it :p
 
Why are the bullet marks so huge? Are they all that big, or are there multiple shots for each dot?

theres a small bullet hole in the center of it and the rest is chipped away from the impact, looks sorta like a nipple
 
With all these new phyics and everything it would be funny to make a CS Source Football mod and you have one person carry the football and can toss it to his team, the other team can kill him or catch it, the whole style would be similar to Unreal Tournament's Bombinb Run game but with the physics and everything else I think it would be fun

i remember an old video of HL2 - the barricade one, i believe. the player spends a bunch of time shooting at the combine from down the road, and then later in the video, he cuts through the building, comes out the back, and if you look, all the bullet holes from the previous firefight are still on the wall... it's cool, really looks like a big battle happened.

lol, that pic reminds me of my high school.

I had to go to an all guy catholic highschool (www.thsrock.net) #1 in Kentucky High School Football!!

Anyway, you had to be careful there because it seems that most of the guys there had a 'penis fixation' and would draw penii everywhere.....on lockers, books, homework, walls, ceilings, lunchtables, lunch trays, on your body(if you were sleeping in class), etc... Regardless of the penalizing, I still got a good education that I am proud of! :cheese:

I've got a CSS question. If there was a bunch of barrels piled together in a pyramid and three or four people throw a grenade at the top barrel at the same time, would the barrel be knocked off? If you threw a grenade and hit someone, would it hurt them? If you threw your weapon and hit someone, would it hurt them? <- since most things in source are supposed to have mass....

Yes to all your questions :) I was hit with a flashbang :p Doesn't do a lot of damage (just like if someone threw a pop can at you it wouldn't hurt much)
