Hi,

Just a quick question, my mate has a wireless broadband router wirelessly connected to 2 pc's. He has a 2mb broadband connection btw. When he is gaming by him self (ie he is the only person using the net connection) he gets all bandwidth, but when his flat mate starts to game, his flat mate gets teh majority of the bandwidth slowing down the game for the other person. Basically what i want to know is, if there is a program or utility that split the net connection 50/50 so that neither person experiences a slow connection while gaming. Thanks in advance

the router should do that

is he sure that both people arn't lagging,

and are you sure the speed of the router is set correctly?

the speed of the router is set correctly, and also the speed of the net connection is also correct, both tested and I know for a fact that it is working at the correct speed. Its just that the router doens't seem to allocate the same bandwidth to each computer, it is more like 80/20 towards teh pc that connects later.

i think thats what hes asking in the first place :E

have you looked around in the router setup?

I've never heard of routers doing that

there is noting in teh router settings, have had a look today infact and i cant see anything. Also, the pc that connects later gets a really good ping as its getting the majority of the 2mb line, and the other pc lags alot as its getting a small percentage of the speed.
