verizon dsl. connects, then goes down to 56k after 30 sec, and then noting, 100bytes a sec at most. need help, tech support has no answers. i have to restart the com pt o go online, that s why i sound rushed

faultly modem, fault on the line, incorrect settings, spyware, virus. Could be any of those. Sounds more like a modem or ISP side fault.

no virus, spyware

abit a8v, has problems with lan, eub or ether net.

not enough free parts, i just reformated, andf windows updates doesnt work because i now need to get sp2. argh

you shouldn't have to get sp2, there should be like a custom windows updates or such.

it was a virus, it ran my cpu up to 100% and whatnot, got rid of it. damn internet

I wouldn't be surprised if you caught it during the few seconds after reinstalling windows that you went online before getting protected. Annoys the hell out of me, so the firewall is the first thing that gets installed now before i connect the CM.

GODDAMN ITS BACK

ok, i now see that its a process in taskmanager, ill get the name if it tommorrow. i can get internet back by shutting it down

edit: here it is wmsvc.exe

whatever this is, it runs my CPU up to 100, and hogs my dsl till theres nothing left, running xp pro. im sure this is it
