Until yesterday, i could download stuff at 150 kb/s. However, lately, my connection seems alot slower and my downloads are running at a whopping 20 kb/s. My router is a westell versalink 327w. I have DSL. Also, about the same time my internet starting running sluggish, my phone has had very loud interference, to the point of being unusable. Any possible correlation?

Slow? You want slow? Try an internet going at 3KB/S! F*cking dial-up.

As for the question, you might have spyware or something, check if anything else is on that shouldn't be in your task manager>processes.

is your phone wireless? if so what band is it? most routers run on a 2.4ghz band.
do you have dsl filters on all of your phones? without them it will cause a sort of interference

They are 2.4 GHZ i believe. I think I have DSL filters on them. This hasn't happened before.

I would goto www.dslreports.com they will be better able to assist you and I am sure they have forums dedicated to your specific isp, or (regional area) this will allow you to see if anyone else is having the problem.

That's kind of bizarre. See if you can get your lines checked out, sounds like it might be something to do with the actual phone cable.

Yeah. I would agree. Also, could the filters be failing? You would want to have them check it all out so you don't have to buy anything just yet.

Ahh, filters are probably a more likely candidate (I should probably know better  ). Check those first.

First thing you do is unplug your modem for like 30 seconds and plug it back in. That should give you full connectivity once it has taken a minute to get up and running. Occasionally, you might have to do it again if your internet doesn't come right up the first try.

Unless your router is wireless, I don't see how it's possible that your phone and router are having interference with each other.

Well, my internet problem seems to have fixed itself, so I am sure the phone is a separate issue in it's own. Thanks for the help everyone, really appreciate it.

sounds like a problem on your ISP's end, I wouldn't worry about it.
