Internet Time - new format of time

Logn story short. This is a new time format, count-off point of which is located in Switzerland, Beil.

A day is devided into 1000 equale beats, each beat is is one minute 26.4 seconds. Now, the most fonderful thing about it is that IT is relative to our planet, unlike the old time format which is relative to a certain time belt. That means, for example, now it is 203 beats in Moscow... So it in Washington and Israel.

I hope that people will convert into this format in the near future. I'm buying myself this thing with my first paycheck! Woo-hoo!

When someone asks me "Do you have the time?" I shout it into her face "Eight hundred beats, biatch!":E
 
i think relative to our planet isn't as practical as time zones

YET! i think when we have space stations and colonies and stuff, then the planetary time will HAVE to be the norm (for those not on the planet)... at least i hope so. it's a cool idea.
 
Its almost 6 years old. I think time zones work better.
 
......this was a fashion about 6 years ago....I liked it, but most ppl did not.
 
It just doesn't make any sense. Time zones work better because the rotation of the planet. Like Jackal said it would be better for stuff like space stations and other places not on the planet.

Right so lets say the time is eight hundred beats in England. It's also eight hundred beats in Australia and America and Lazarote and Switzerland and Jamaica?

That'd be no good. How would you distinguish the daylight status between the countries.
 
Yes, exactly. And are you really that concerned about day or nigh in othe counties?
 
They dont mean to use it as normal time, they just mean on the intenet. Its almost the same has saying Ill meet you in 4 hour at 6 your time instead of saying Ill meet you at 10, because they might be in a different timezone. They mean use .beats or whatever on the internet as a standard.

i've been using that for a while now. it makes life a LOT easier. especially since i discuss contract work with people all over the world. this way we can synchronise ourselves to the same time schedule. if we're arranging a meeting, everyone will offer the BMT time they're free, some might be free at 730, others at around 900. it's a great system but i think it has limited use for most people who lead 'normal everyday 9-5' lives.
 
hmm it seems like a better format but id never get used to it and neither do I need to so I wont bother :p
 
I suppose it'd be better on the internet in some respects.
 
Yeah i was just thinking about it, i can really see the use for it but since its just naturally apart of life to live by the time zones, it would be awkward to try and move over to this beats thing....especially if we still use normal time outside the internet.
