Internet!!

Im fine game wise, fps wise all that, but the problem is sometimes my internet...hm..looking for a word.. ...dies..
yes dies is a good word. The problem is it just shuts off randomly sometimes, like it wont let me on the internet it says Finding server at bottom or something and after a while i leave it alone it comes back normal as if nothing happened. This didnt happen on my laptop wireless card, but it does on this wireless card on desktop. Im using lynksis and im pretty sure its all installed and set up correctly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Oh edit- i just read somewhere that interference comes from like microwaves or phones and such? Could be prob? My router is in dads pc room downstairs(Im upstairs at top, we have basement and a middle main floor where router is), plus he has a phone down there, its not cordless but still?? microwave is close by..ok thanks, please help lol.

A lot of cordless phones run at 2.4GHz which could cause interfernce. If it isn't a cordless phone, don't worry. If you run the microwave that could interfer though. Are you getting a strong signal?

Oh yeah signal is "Excellent" its fine just the turning off, like on Halo PC i get a packet loss whenever it happens and if it turns back on quick it lets me stay in game lol. Thanks for replying you guys must be awfully busy.

If your using comcast call them and tell them to give ya a new modem. Some of the older modems they have got screwed when they updated their service so it operates on a different frequency so you get disconnected randomly. Took me forever to figure it out and it's a million times better now.

update firmware, or get openwrt or hyperwrt if you have a compatible router. Check if your antennae is screwed on tight.

Yeah they don't have any updates that I need, I'm all caught up. But I read other forums about people having same problems with the Wireless G card with PowerBooster and stuff. Damn it I'm going to run cables up stairs. That's it. Thanks anyway guys.
