A lot of little pieces. Everything sure is small. It looked like it took a lot of work to open that thing up. And I feel sorry for anyone who has their iPhone battery go bad unless Apple has lighting fast and quality service for replacing it.

i dont understand people and iphones. there is nothing at all new about it imo. people are like OMG!!!!!! it has 'i' at the beginning must be a great product.

It'll be funny to see the dozens of iterations that'll surely follow as they make it smaller or do new stuff.

Ah yes of course. The iPhone Mini, the iPhone Nano, the iPhone Shuffle (it calls a random number at a random time, loads of fun!)

I've never owned a cell phone and I don't plan on owning one any time soon.

Betcha the battery would be a problem. My video iPod's battery is drained by videos way too fast to be of much use.

hmm... it's very neat, and lord knows I'd love to carry one small electronic object instead of two. But tbh, it seems like it doesn't have a lot of features I'd like. Besides, 8 gigs? Ffs, I have 43.

I don't get it. How the hell can you release a multimedia phone (that is built around video and music) with only GSM? I have no idea how the networks look like in the US, but I take it that they are as much standard nowadays as they are in EU (3G at least).

Also, I've heard the camera can't record video? What the fudge is that?

i say give it time - people said the same thing about the ipod when it was released "I dont want that shit. I have this mp3 player and it does the same thing!" Now look at the ipod.
I predict the same about the iphone.
Sure, it does a lot of the same things other phones do - but apple likes to take ordinary tasks and make them elegant - i bet that in a few years when it comes down in price, itll be popular.
Hell, the RAZR started out at like 700 bucks, now its free and everyone has a damn RAZR.....
people are just quick to judge this thing because, well, its apple, people hate apple because they just hate apple.

I'm pretty sure i'm the only person on this forum who is a mac user through and through and wouldn't use windows again if i had to eat my own shit.
*puts up flame shield.*

isnt EDGE 3G?

EDGE is something like 230kbit/s while 3G can reach speeds up to 3.6Mbit/s or 14.4Mbit/s depending on the technology (At this moment... on the market).

There is a legal problem with the maker of the 3G chip. America cannot import any 3G phones at this time. Sucks for the Americans my media phone does everything the iphone does minus touchscreen and is 3G.

Id like one but im going to wait untill they release something with more space. To little capacity for so many features.

lol "$600 for a phone?!!" ...hint: the iphone is NOT for you ..it's not marketed for you or anyone like you. The iphone will sell like hotcakes even if it were twice that price ..apple is smart in that it markets to lifestyle not necessity ..let the masses eat cake, I'd rather have creme brule

"why buy a porsche when a Chrysler will do the same thing?"

I can't imagine devoting an entire week of my life to being the first person to get the iphone. Think of all the other shit you could be doing in that time...crazy.

The "i" and the touch screen are the only appeal this phone has.
My list of why I wouldn't touch the iPhone:
1. no Bluetooth
2. to replace the battery you have to send it away to Apple and pay $80(Apple admits the batteries lifespan is quite short)
3. super expensive
4. expensive 2 year agreement
5. price does not reflect call quality
6. no flash on pathetic 2megapixel camera
7. Needs bigger speakers
8. no expansion slots
9. That touch screen is an accident waiting to happen(scratches/fingerprints/breaking)
10. exclusively for at&t

I just sit back with my EnV and laugh :D

btw: did you guys see that lady who was planning to buy $100,000 worth of iPhones and sell them on Ebay, payed a kid $800 for his spot in line and then it turns out she could only buy one. Poetic justice! I hate those people who take advantage of demand, buy these hyped up electronics out and then sell them on Ebay :D
