iPhone: Yay or Nay

They say the keyboard's too small and you can't use the larger one unless you're on a website. The web browsing is also pretty slow, and one of them had problems answering a call because the interface can lag up sometimes.

I just don't understand this herd mentality on the internet. Sure, there are a lot of idiots buying the phone just because it's 'cool', but it really IS a very good phone. Nice amount of storage for songs, iTunes, WiFi and the best use of a touch interface I have seen yet. Don't pan a product you haven't tested yourself.

My brother went into an apple store in the mall just to check one out. Of course a sales guy tried to sell him on it. He asked my brother if he knew how they activate the iPhone. Then he went on to say "you don't activate it in the store, you don't activate it through the phone...you do it over iTunes! In the comfort of your own home and whenever you want. That's an apple solution."

If only I could have been there to laugh at the salesman. Having to be tied to a computer is a solution? Why not through the phone?

In short: never get the first generation of a product.

But I think all the nay-sayers are kidding themselves if they actually think the iPhone interface isn't the way to go in the future.
