are you sure you want an ipod? id go for a creative labs zen, i think they are a LOT better. and cheaper.

I like the Iriver as an alternative but I personally don't care for the creative or samsung players. :|
I'd find a local store that has one as an open box item then. I know my Compusa store has an open HP Ipod 20GB that is open we are selling for about 250$. Search around for an open-box mini Ipod.
As long as it wasn't the demo but just someone opened and returned it.
