Well I got an iPod mini for xmas. 4th generation silver, really nice. but i have two issues. one - the battery seems to dwindle ALOT sooner than 8 hours, and thats without using the backlight. two - this only happened with two songs but still, when i went to play them, it just went to the next song and refused to play the song i clicked. whats the deal?

The deal is you probally ****ed somethin up.....

Or in other words I don't know what the hell I'm talking about.

Well that sucks, its plainly broken and totally useless, send it to me.

Thank you all. You solved my problems. :p

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

CD player > iPod

Basically, spend five bucks and get a cd player

I've said it once and I'll say it again.. once you 'pod you don't go back.

.. Unltil it breaks and you cant afford a new one since you had to sell your house to get the first one

When you switch songs (or use the menus in general) a lot, the battery dwindles. Pick an album and stick with it.

Actually it was only half my paycheck. If you sold your house for 300 bucks thats sad.

I live in a pretty nice box..
Two stories, carpet, the works.

quick, everyone spam ShinRa's thread with posts about some random Final Fantasy game nobody cares about ;)

 Wait...? Is that our que? So are we supposed to spam now?

Okay. Hi. I like Final Fantasy, can't wait until 12 comes out YAY! Wee! Happy. Happy. Joy. Joy.

Ipods are poo. I dont like things with internal batteries, they dont last as long as they say they will, you have to buy the charger seperately normally and when you do need a new battery, they charge you half or more than the price of another whole product for a new one.

ipods suck!
ipods suck!
ipods suck!
ipods suck!

they do!

Yeah, that happened to my mp2-player too. The jumping part, that is. I found out that that file-type was not suported.

Did you connect and unconnect it from your computer properly? Using the remove hardware wizard?

But hey, if it is totally ****ed beyond repair there is always the Original Paper Ipod

My Creative Zen Touch 20GB > Apple Ipod 20GB :D

24hour battery life!! YAY! Plus it doesn't look like a child's toy ;) (joking :))

mine works quite succulently.. i had a track meet out in the city the other day and it was like from 7am-9pm and it lasted most of the time

whoever is saying the ipod sucks, like i used to, obviously never used one, or cant get one. i figured out that song skipping thing, thanks ankalar.

Ipods are only good as they are a status symbal, in essence, a Creative Xen is far better and also costs less.

Here here! :D One of mates has got an iPod and after using one I thought it was pretty good, the only turn-offs were the crappy battery-life, and the fact its looks didn't appeal to me at all. I did really like the scroll wheel though - nice bit of design for you. I ordered one off of amazon for £210, before coming across the Creative Zen Touch, listed as 40 quid cheaper and with alot better specifications - so I cancelled my order and got one a Zen instead. Much wiser choice :)

The iPod is just a silly craze at the moment, it seems if you have one, your "stylish" or whatever, and if you did buy simply because you wanted an mp3 player, the specifications hardly justify the price.

i bought the sony nw-hd3 its way better, 30hours lbattery life =) soi i suggest returning that shitty ipod and get a sony!

I'd go for iRiver, i dont have one but they seem decent value and price otherwise it'd be a creative Zen.

Yeh my brothers got that...it's really nice and it's got great features but it's just too small for my liking - so small that it seems easy to lose, or you could just crush it with your bare hands. :upstare:

i should be getting my creative zen touch tomorrow. i cant wait. as you can see by my sig im still going for a free ipod to give to someone as a gift (my creative was for x-mas). btw, im dead serious about paying someone $40.00 to be the 5th to complete an offer.

I'm very satisfied with my Creative Zen Micro 5GB.

I was planning on going for the 20GB iPod because I, as a student, get a large discount buying Apple products. But then I realized a couple of things.

1. I don't have and probably never will have 20GB of music.
2. It's still too expensive for my meager student budget to carry.
3. The Zen Micro looks way more stylish and clean. I never thought it'd be possible but imo it actually does look better than the iPods. Especially the white and silver-coloured micros.
4. Sound quality is according to tests better.
5. Battery life is longer.
6. Every-bloody-one in my school has an iPod. I thought I'd go for something different.

iPods! A sure fire way to get mugged!

I should so be in advertising.

I only got an iPod because it simplifies moving music purchased from the iTunes music store.

Converting those songs to .mp3 format = major hassle.

Get Firefox!

How random :|

I have an Apacer 256MB MP3 player, it is all I need. Although, the Zen Micro hoosawhat's it is better than any MP3 player I have seen so far

MP3 bitrate can be a battery life factor... don't make them ridiculously high like 320... it makes the file bigger, thus the hard drive spins more and faster

all i can think of

Here lemme help, i had a pod worse than yours, mine overheated, crap battery, and resetted itself.

did you try not switching songs alot or fidgeting around with the buttons, and also my 'pod used to skip songs too, did you try reformatting your pod, or reset it?

well if i play a song and just let it take it from there and leave it on hold, the battery seemed to last longer. my estimate is if i left it straight on without stop it woulda went for about 5 hours at the rate the battery was dropping. the song skipping issue i resolved. mine doesnt over heat, or reset itself. but um..crap battery it seems, although everyone i talk to has the same problem. even ppl with creative xens and dell dj's all say their battery dies within hours time.
