Iraq Pictures

2 soldiers lying on the floor doesnt compare to a pic of a child with half his lower body shredded ..I'm just calling it like it is ..people were upset about the pics of the soldiers but no one commented on the pics of the dead children ...which is far worse IMO

well i havent seen the pics of the children yet, and have no intention to as it just makes me even more mad at the US, but i completely agree. now if i said what i TRULY feel about the comparison between the iraqi children and the american soldiers i would be kicked of these forums and banned straight away :E

no you wouldnt ...this place is run by people from the UK ...they dont ban based on opinions (well unless that opinion is abusive or racist)

Cheers for the free-minded halflife2.net forums team (from UK)

no, the police fired on PEACEFUL protestors ...all accounts say the same thing ...even people who werent involved in the protest said cops were firing indescriminately.
I'd prefer a source of CNN over the blog type websites you provided. Media loves stuff like this, I'd be shocked if you couldn't find an article by a larger, more respected media outlet.

As mentioned, if you guys wanted to focus on pictures of dead Americans then do it in another thread. The stuff I posted was at least objective. Can you drop the agenda for once?

Better to fight for something than live for nothing.- George S. Patton

At least she wasnt living for nothing.
But fighting for something, its very ambiguous, abit dangerous.

Nobody is saying she doesnt have the right to protest. However, if she was protesting outside a dockyard and preventing supplies from reaching the troops than that is crossing the line. They didnt make the decision to invade, and they shouldnt be needlessly punished at home for being there.

Well, for sure i can accept your hypothetical situation, but you have to hold the police to the same standards, i.e not shooting people in the face with wooden baton's.

If what was reported on those websites was pure truth (which I doubt), then of course the police should be held accountable. I'm sure if it were true then the city of Oakland would punish those officers responsible. They dont want to acheive a status akin to that of the LAPD.

I hope your that skeptical when watching fox.
Who knows, too much speculation now.

i have something to tell you

ALL media are bias, and stories you read may be completely false.

Rolf. Yea i spose im abit lame. Im quite enjoying blogs atm, opinionated as hell but i dont mind, they kinda lead you round the spectrum of opinions with their rebuttals to one and another. Its definately left wing so not veryones cup of soup but Onegoodmove is great, they have clips from news agencies, i enjoy that guy from comedy central, hes very good at putting things in perspective. Well at least a perspective that i tend to agree with.

Well Seinfeld, I have to hand it to you -- the pictures you found were classics.

Putting aside my agenda, I also need to hand it to CptStern for showing our casualities -- its the reality of war, that no side will never suffer a battle without one.

check this out if you got a problem with fox (or cnn)

Probably the simplest solution would to be not to subscribe to them in the first place.

Also of interest on that page was the story of the homeless nerd, who carried a desktop computer around. I think people should remember, that is very easy to become homeless. Not everyone who is homeless is a drug addict or an alcoholic. You can lose your job, have your credit cards maxed out and then you are on the street.

great point

"Today, when you put carbombs in the middle of a crowd, when you kill children, when you kill worshippers... this is not resistance."

Also, the first one highlighted the fact that Iraqis were being kidnapped more than the foreigners. Shows how true to the Islamic way they are, killing their fellow countrymen.

that's why they need harsh dictatorship

Or, y'know, the chance to sort themselves out. It's a rough transition period. What if the French revolutionaries had got a bit upset half way through and decided that perhaps they should reinstate those they lopped off after all? It'd be ridiculous.

Whilst I did disagree with some of the real motives, figureheads and benifactors from the war, I'll be happy once it calms down and the people are living under a little more of a democracy, and can go speak their mind to their leading political party neighbour who keeps on having his dog crap on their lawn.

No, thats a load of bs, the reason they dont show those images is because everyone would be putoff war. And Bush sure doesnt want that does he??
I thought I'd just point out what absolute malarky this is. American media available to the general public (where the audience may be comprised of anyone of any age) has never made regular practice of showing dead American soldiers, lest a wife see her dead husband on the front page of the paper etc.
