The team behind Iron Grip: The Oppression has released the patch to version 1.2 of their popular modification. A whole plethora of bugfixes and other good stuff is contained:
  • CHANGE - RTS mousecontrol Move-order is now right-click
  • ADD - Basic tank pathfinding
  • ADD - Commander View can be scrolled with movement-keys
  • ADD - Heavy MG Tank & Conscript Spawner (anti-rush)
  • ADD - Tank Gibs
  • ADD - Map intro screens
  • ADD - Several new animations
  • ADD - Player names show up when aimed at
  • FIX - HQ button on RTS Commandpanel
  • FIX - Shiva Bolt Positons
  • FIX - Quick Switching problems (bugged minimap)
  • FIX - Last used weapon (Q) crash for Rahmos
  • FIX - ESC for Rahmos RTS
  • FIX - Select icon pressed clicking on empty space crash
  • FIX - Ragdoll from observer
  • FIX - Wrong spawn time message
  • FIX - AI death sounds
  • FIX - Molotov explosions against walls
  • FIX - Player death sounds
  • FIX - Melee animations
  • FIX - New textures for ig_ambush paths
  • FIX - F12 -> FPS when in RTS mode
  • FIX - Scoreboard issues
  • FIX - ig_vistorg : General now does not fall through floor (Hidden general exploit)
  • OPTIMISE - Added new LODs for Resistance Players
  • OPTIMISE - Optimized LODs for Soldiers
  • OPTIMISE - Optimized several materials
  • OPTIMISE - Further gameplay balancing
  • OPTIMISE - Network usage reduced
  • OPTIMISE - Moved AI selection sound to client
  • OPTIMISE - Duplicate symbols in the tank's schedules/tasks

I know this thread is ugly, I had to do some snap editing to fix the frontpage newspost and the differentiation between the forum code and frontpage code causes oddities here.
 
If you havn't tried this mod already, try it. If you have and didn't like it... try it again.
 
Ahhh that was horrible, fixed it! There we go Chris, looks better now :)
 
Yeah, I really was disappointed with teh game when I first played it. Very laggy, the AI wasn't very good, and I just didn' get it.

Maybe when I get some extra room on my HDD and another patch or 2 comes out, I'll try it again.

Well, its less laggy...
 
Toobad they still have the silly general thing that completly ruins the gameplay for me, and just distrupt the entire game mechanic. Otherwhise its great fun when you can get some resistance players to work together and set up ambushes in ways you just can't do with human opponents. Hide in windows etc and just wait for a group of troops to pass then mow them down to the last man and wait for the next.
 
Are you referring to the (in)famous CutlLinkedList error? We're putting all our manpower in at the moment to get that silly bug OUT! ARG!!! Ik just keeps on following us.

If the test tonight solves the problem, we might even do a very quick patch this week... Keep your fingers crossed!

Who? Me?

I was just reffering to the annoying win condition of the resistance that imo ruins the entire game for me, that otherwhise is just pure awsome. Just love sneaking into a building and wait for a company of troopers runs past and deply my mg and shred em. Great fun, but then either someone manages to rush the rhamos and kills the general or otherwhise sneak in and ruin the entire game. I say remove him and give the rebels a set time to hold out instead. And make a separate game mode called assassinate with specially designed maps where the resistance has to fight/sneak their way into the rhamos base to kill the general or something.
 
Good new additions.
Thing is: the mod isn't stable yet.
My client crashed twice during 1 hour and our server crashed too.
We still experienced heavy lag with 5 players on the server, so I'm afraid it's not gone yet.
Still we had loads of fun playing it :)
 
CUtlLinkedList errors? It's probably a bug with your GUI. If your programmer knows how to debug and can put a breakpoint in CUtlLinkedList construction/deconstruction, he should be able to find the source easily.
