I definitly think the "when it's done" is the smartest answer a company can make, then we fans don't get all hyped up and when the game finally comes out, the hype doesn't kill the gameand were all like "What the hell?! I thought this was groundbreaking!" Ya know what i mean? Now since HL2 is proposed in April I'm just like, F**k it ill let HL2 die in my brain

lol, uhmm.. DF, d00d.. think about that for a second, if someone else gets the winning numbers, the money is split up between them.. therefore, buying 20 tickets with the same number and winning = same amount of money given to you

2 winning tickets = money split 2 ways. If you own 1 of those 2 tickets, you get 50% of the money.
20 winning tickets = money split 20 ways. If you own 19 of those 20 tickets, you get 95% of the money.

Isn't that what I just said?

If I bought 20 tickets all using the same number and won, the money would be split 20 ways to myself. However, I hadn't thought of the more you own, the more money you get if others win. Good point!

i wasn't replying to u when i mentioned buying more tickets.. i was talking to the other guy that thought only 1 ticket is needed for all of the winnings money..

whether they tried it the way i mentioned is debatable considering that they hadn't even taken the neccessary steps to pull Steam out of the beta stages around the time or shortly after annoucing HL2 the very first time.. i assume they thought

"oh Steam is running fine, we will just pull it out of beta in early September which should be a smooth transition and bang, HL2 = September 30th"

but really.. when u think of all the work being put into Steam now to get it ready.. looking back, what made anyone believe Steam would be a-okay for September 30th?

oh well i guess its easy second guessing Valve once it all transpired.. but hey? maybe this is a lesson learned for future games by Valve.. HL3 anyone?
