Is atheism a religion?

that's an inaccurate statement. "science" doesn't concern itself with "non-physical realities". it says nothing about their existance one way or another.

Yes, I said nothing to the contrary.

those who dont believe are just too lazy to put forth the effort to discover their true nature.

You call yourself open-minded and then you say things like that? You don't know anything about how willing people are to "search for thier true nature". You get off calling people lazy for not believing what you do? You can't prove the existance of a non-physical reality, not even to yourself. Looking inside your mind isn't going to reveal anything but your own thoughts. And how many of your thoughts are truth? If something is not part of our reality it's just a 50/50 guess that it's there. In a sense, yes there is a non-physical "reality". It's called your imagination.

ElFuhrer, your perception of reality is reality for you...so when you reveal your own thoughts, you're revealing the truth for yourself...there is no 50/50 chance.

nobody else ever changes you...you can only change yourself...which is kinda what he's trying to say.

i said i was bored of this thread

oh it is...i wish i would've gone somewhere else...except i met my girlfriend of almost 4 years here...so that's one good thing about it.

(i just didn't want a bunch of random emails :p )

Fuhrer, it doesnt sound like you have even read my posts, but rather skimmed through them taking the bits and pieces that fit into your skewed view of who i am. You take everything i say out of context to make me appear as some holier than thou evangilist out to convert all the heathen athiests.

You call yourself open-minded and then you say things like that?

Yep. And?

You don't know anything about how willing people are to "search for thier true nature".

I was referring to a very specific group of people, people who dont put forth the effort to search for the truth and instead adopt the opinion of another who has simply abopted the opinion of another and so on. I know of no other word which describes this group of people better than lazy.

You get off calling people lazy for not believing what you do?

No, i never said any such thing. I call people lazy for looking in the one place(science) which they will never get the truth of the matter, instead of putting forth the effort to discover their own nature for themselves.

You can't prove the existance of a non-physical reality, not even to yourself.

Wrong, as i have. And so have many people that i know.

If a human being is really a spiritual being living a physical life, then it stands to reason that one could directly experience his own spiritual nature, he need only go about it in the right manner. And anyone can do this, as i have done.

And yes, it is proof. Its not proof for the world, because its a personal experience. Is standing on the ground not proof enough that it exists? Is swimming through water not proof enough that it exists? These things are no different from the spiritual experiences i am referring to, experiences that are available to all human beings who seek them in the right manner.

Looking inside your mind isn't going to reveal anything but your own thoughts.

Im not talking about the mind, im talking about the complete self. Yourself as a whole. And im not talking about thoughts. As i said earlier, im talking about action. Actual experiences.

And how many of your thoughts are truth?

A very small percentage, i suppose. Like every other human being. And its always good to theorise. Again, im talking about action, not thought.

In a sense, yes there is a non-physical "reality". It's called your imagination.

Your more right than you realise, but thats a different matter. The imagination has no bearing on what im talking about. Its easy for people who have never experienced the spiritual to write it off as "all in your head", but thats the beauty of what im saying. Thats my entire point. That you dont have to take this guys word for it, or that guy. the point im trying to make is that the ultimate truth is available to all who put forth the effort in discovering it.

Its like me going inside the house down the street, and then coming here and talking about it. I cant prove the house is really there, and you may not believe me. But thats not the point. the point is that the house is there for you to get up and go explore it for yourself, if only you put forth the effort.

Well I picked up from his post that satanism and athiesm are labeled as "bad":

""Why is it that no one seems to think that Atheism and Satanism are forms of religion?

Religion is both sides of the spectrum right? The good and the bad? ""

Maybe i just thought atheism was just implyed, but thats how i felt he was saying when i read that, if im wrong Tak say so.

No, I agree with you completely.
