Is HL2.net getting a DOS attack?

I am having a hell of a time accessing any part of this site. Is this just heavy traffic? Or is someone or some others doing this?

Everyething was cool until earlier this evening. Now it takes almost 3 to 5 mintues for a page to load.

No attacks. We were just under a very heavy load after being linked to by just about every site on the globe including several news sites such as the BBC It eventually blew our database server up.

Just a related suggestion: After the game is actually released, I have a sneaking suspicion that traffic will die down substantially... If that's the case, a lot of that extra computer power will be, dare I say it, wasted.

Doesnt the gamplay advertisement have anything to do with you or is that homelan? Also dont you have to pay vBullitin for the forums in the first place?
