Is it just me or has the IQ of the average forum member droped?

Ever since this damn scenario of the stolen HL2 resources from Valve I have noticed a huge decline in the average IQ of members. Maybe its because these forums are now attracting alot of your average warez idiots or maybe its because people are just agitated and more prone to flaming and posting stupid things. We all thought the pay2play and delay threads were horrible, well those were just little bumps in the road compared to what this will probably turn into.

Well, im a mod so i can delete people who annoy me, so im not scared.

The fact im a mod also exempts me from being an "average forum member", so my IQ hasnt dropped.

However, we are really seriously coming down on this. Especially anything related to the theft (It wasn't leaked...it was stolen. There is a difference).

Yes everyone it was me who stole the source code to make a program that would open a simple text file as a school project. All me. I am deeply sorry for what I have done.

Anyway. As long as you mods are able to keep things in relatively good order then everything will be ok. That makes me happy.

EDIT: What I mean by a drop in the average IQ is many members (mostly new) are not being particularily intelligent. I don't mean that every single member on these boards lost intelligence.

I don't think the IQ has dropped any.

I don't have much of a problem with the posts on this forum. In fact I think a lot of the posts are funny. I try not to take things too seriously.

What it comes down to is that, a lot of people (myself included) are confused. It's difficult to tell which piece of information is real and which piece of information is fake. We don't always get cold hard facts, but instead a little fragment of information here, and a little fragment of information there. And then we try our best to make sense out of it all.

People making posts are more likely doing so as a tension reliever . This is a sensitive time and situation for hardcore game fans like myself. One of the greatest- (if not the greatest)-game ever made is out there, but yet we can't get our hands on it. And Satan only knows when we will be able to get our hands on it. This is very frustrating for a lot of people such as myself.

The only thing I don't like is when people flame each other. But I have yet to find a message board where people DON'T flame each oher.

If there are any message boards out there where people don't flame each other, I haven't found it.

...although I think the average IQ around here may have dropped to about 2.... you need IQ of 2 to grunt, and that's basically all that happens around here now......
