Please tell me because it's a very hard to cool down again. I'm asking because of the recent footage/statements that emerged from winhec.

whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

Oh yes, it's time to be excited. This is the most exciting time since last year. We've got E3 in precisely 6 days time of which should produce a load of high resolution videos and new media and information.

Also the actual game is only a few months away. If it's here by summer then it'll have to be within the next four months.

Now that has me excited.

Like I said in another thread, this year is a great time to be an FPS fan.

it's hard for me not to be excited :)

just to bad we still have to wait a couple of months at lease for the release :(

I shall give yah all the strength to survive the drastic wait between the announcement of the release date @ e3 and the release date itself.

Hold on brothers

With all this new information and what hav you coming out , i doubt theres a Half Life fan here thats not crapping them selves with excitment IMO

Only a few months to go , WEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeEEEEE :O

As a hardcore gamer who's followed many a development cycle and witnessed more delays than i care to remember, i'm going to remain at my current level of cool headedness. That's not going to be an easy task when Doug "The Jive Turkey" Lombardi announces a release date.

Still got 3 months to go... I woud not get hyped. Get hyped for E3 I guess?!

must...resist....oh I can't do it...
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee HL2!!!!!

The media is trickling in, and let's face it - a trickle usually turns into a flood. The hype maching is starting up again; the cogs seem to fit perfectly. Oh yes.

Im excited.

especialy since i just saw the 4 month post.....

i hadnt realy fought about that.....

get HL2 in summer
play it to death
get into some fine MP games
Get Rome total war
play it to death
switch between the two...

this year will f*cking own.

I don't know if it's time yet, but I can't help myself... And rofl at the jive turkey comment. What on God's green earth is a jive turkey?

The signs, the signs! New media... people lose control.. the crowd starts screaming... insurance companies wish Valve good luck... forums get spammed... mass speculation (on random bs) emerges... Valves mailbox starts filling up... (continues...)

Although we can't be sure if some of those are happening/happened, we can make up them in our minds, and still be excited... just for the fun of it ;)

i dunno. keep in mind gabe said it will be finished this summer.... not released. i mean it could be released but i'm thinking a fall release might be more likely. i mean i'm still excited for the E3 stuff, but still some waiting for the actual game i think.

very excited now. cant wait till E3! and when E3 comes we will still have to wait maybe another day 2days for the E3 videos to be on the net! lol Grrrr

Cant wait!

Also i heard that Valve are going to announce a actual release date for HL2 at E3! i mean actual release date not "summer" like "month and day" hehe YAY wed-fri 2 hl2 presintations! so i say next sat-sun-mon we will have alot to talk about here

.....they said they were pointing to a "Summer release". adn whats the point in finishing a game and not releasing it?

I'm almost more excited now than I was back before 30th september..

good point.

I'm not as excited as I was in September, it is true that time has taken its toll on the atmosphere of excitement and anticipation that HL2 brought with it, I’m still pretty excited though.

I'll be most excited when I have the collector's edition in my hands. ;)

i really realyl hope the vids are high-rez this time. NOT shacky cam. Not bink @ 1024 no af no fsaa no full settings.

i want direcview or atleast clearer shacky cam @ 1280 full effects. Screenshots also at high res.

im sick of all these low res shots :(

this place is going to blow up after e3. *forewarning*

There has been so many delays that people seem to have hard time thinking the actual release :) They're going for the summer release, those are some great news.

I'm going to quote marksmanHL2:)'s signature for this:

Since I hear this way too often I would like to set the record straight for whom ever might read this:
Halflife2 was delayed once from September the 30th. All other dates were made up by Valves publisher and rumours.

We are getting it soon... absence makes the heart grow fonder... or causes heart attacks... err well in any case absence casuses something.. i just hope it is half life

hehe, like someone ages ago here said, the real release date is "multiply the remaining time by 2 and add 1 smaller unit". As in, if the "few weeks" remaining were, say, a month(yeahright), the release would be in around 2 months and 1 week ;p

I just hope that broadbanders (is that a word?) download hl2 and leave the CDS for us poor dial-up users. You download at more than 3.5 k/sec, put it to good use!

I still say September at the earliest, but that's just me and my usual pessimistic manner with games and delays. No biggie though, even September is only 4 months away.

I might just explode if they just say "we are targeting a summer release" at E3 this year....

reason im more excited now than i was in sept 03 is because valve is acually advertising the game now, they werent back then. making the fact that hl2 will release soon seem much more realistic :)

They will have 2 displays with ATI and Vivendi on the 2 days of the floor show, and also will be taking part in a sneak peak demonstration at the conference the day before.

I haven't gotten near the point of excitement that I was at during last September... hopefully E3 will remedy that. :)

hope it's out before i leave halls of residence at end of June cos i'll be going from 1MB/s to 3.5k/s dl

I am glad I didn't even know of half life 2 untill oct. It's been hard enough for me to manage with the longing for new information for the past 6 months. I can't imagine how hard it would of been for those waiting ever since last E3..
