Well, it's obvious she had an affection to Eli, and now that he's dead, plus the fact that she has traited the resistance once, leads me to believe that there is no reason for her to be alive after we get to her in ep3. sooo, yeah. what do you think?

Well she's going to be alive by the time we get to her, she hasn't been used a whole lot in Ep.1 or Ep.2 so I highly, highly doubt Valve would kill her off so easily. They still have a lot to work with her.

Tough question. I can see her dying halfway into Ep3. But I can also see this more headstrong Mossman taking on a leadership role, in Eli's memory after the void his death left. In fact I reckon if she survives Ep3 she'll be around for a long time.

I voted no.

That... brings up an interesting question... with Eli dead, that leaves a power vacuum for leadership of the Resistance. Will the various figures rip the Resistance apart vying for power, or will one of them claim power before its too late?

VOTE GORDON 2008!

I think she won't die. In my opinion it would be kind of stupid to have someone die in the previous game, and then someone to die in the next game.

So she has to die just because her man is dead?

Yes, she will die.

Sneaki that sucked balls.

Also, who cares it's mossman. Gordon prolly took her round the back, threw gasoline on her woolens and set it alight when we weren't looking.

You know how crazy that Gordon guy is :p

Yeah I suppose it did a bit. I am yet to learn the ways of skillful quote changing...

To follow on from what I said before though, I don't really think she'll die. That'd be preidictable in a way, unless she already died during the transmission. Not that it matters though, the combine know all she knows, if not more, thanks to their antics in ep2.

Voted no.

I imagine something along the lines of Operational's musings.

Kind of like the Stern 'step-mother' figure for Alyx :D

Are you implying that our Hero is scizophrenic?

I don't think she will. Too obvious.

(Mind you, Eli's death was pretty obvious)

Characters don't die purely for shock value - whether it is obvious or not is pretty irrelevant.

Die.

And now...*moves Samon away from the thread...*

I don't really care one way or another whether they kill her off. And because they haven't set me up to care, it would be horrible storytelling to have her die. It's not a TV series where they kill off characters just to explain why they're not around anymore.

Valve successfully got people emotionally invested in Eli, so it was shocking when he died.
The same cannot be said of Judith. If she died the reaction would be "Hmm... Well, no more Mossman. I'm cool with that." Not good storytelling.

Seconded.

It wouldn't make any sense to me killing Mossman. The two main points in killing Eli in Episode 2 was to have a major bearing of the characters and to let the player know that anyone is expendable. Not named Gordon and Alyx of course.

I don't know why anyone would draw the conclusion that Episode 2 = the beginning of the character purgings.

Mossman > Eli
Mossman is the second best HL2 character (after Breen).

Did I miss something? :O

I always thought it was:

Alyx
Magnusson
G-man
Breen

(in that order)

Oh, no no no, I won't let you. I simply won't let you! I won't let you guys turn this thread into another discussion already taking place elsewhere! You all must be stopped!!!

I'm afraid I think Mossman's road will come to an end with EP3. I don't see her role continuing on after EP3 and I think EP3 could be a good send off to a good character. After Eli (and considering how close she was to him) Mossman seems to the most plausible option.

I think she'll die in a manner where her own betrayals backfire on her.

Cos i think the transmission is a trap.

She'll give birth to Eli's next kid who will be the star of Half-Life 3.

It'll be a black Gordon.

Oh and after birth she'll die.

Well she doesn't really have anyone else to turn to. The combine wouldn't want her back after she betrayed Breen when he was in a position where he could have killed Eli, Alyx and Gordon easily. Unless Breen wanted her to pretend to betray him or something like that, but that seems a little too far fetched.

i hope she does, she annoys the hell out of me, you cannot betray the Freeman and live to tell about it!

Maybe she wants to take breen's place?

Maybe, but if the combine noticed she was in control I doubt they'd be inclined to trust her.
