At first, but the symptoms come and go. After a while you start to feel like nobody is paying attention, so you tend towards reckless behaviors that only make you feel even more outcasted and marginalized. Some eventually go insane and recovery becomes impossible. The medication (it's in the water), sedates you to the point where you don't feel like you have an identity anymore. Most people eventually recover, but relapses are common.

Note that minor infractions do not carry the stigma. I don't believe an instance of spam will set you over the edge - to the brink of full anti-citizenship.

I think I'm going to throw up... This has only happened to me once, back in July of 2009, the month I joined. I was a mere worm, if you could call it that, and I ventured into a thread swarming with criminals: Darkside55, Slug Advisor, Calhoun, etc. and I decided to play along.
