Is anyone here able to map something of this architecture to the exact in HL2 ?

Of course, anything is possible, but it wouldn't look nearly as good o_O
 
I could do it. Just give me the dimentions of every piece of geometry, models of the objects that are not possible to do with brushwork, coded real time soft stencil shadows and a rig capable of displaying and compiling it in my lifetime.

I swear I would do it if you met my requirements.
 
I could probably model most of the stuff decently enough for ingame models, but Weihua (the original artist- http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=246835&page=1 ) is way better at textures than I am. And I wouldn't want to rip of his work, but he does do awesome environments, and is a good inspiration. (http://www.weiweihua.com/gallery-1-1.html) So, yeah, with a lot of optimization, the Source engine could probably handle a lot of that detail. I doubt anyone is going to re-create this scene for a map, because to me it seems like if your good enough to model and texture things of that quality, you'd come up with your own ideas.

My texure artist could make it better if the mapper could match up to the picture... O_O Lighting and crap will be the pain and im worried about the water.

Maybe, but 90% of it would be pure prop_static models because that kind of geometry is way too complex for brushwork. Also, it would probably run at ~10fps on a 6600gt.

We need a mapper in our dev team. Before you make a ideology or anyone else its the quality we do that will make our team better than others. We modify in many ways so that gammers can play high quality and fit the needs of the games limits. Would you care to try making a map for our team Pesmerga?
 
:E Yep. Im a Missionary not a Graphic Designer. But i lead a team thats blessed with the best. So how would you like to join? Also you wont be mapping constantly. Once you map once then around 3 other mappers will do 3 maps which will take a while unless you yourself dedicate full time. How would you like to finish our conversation by private message?
 
The Capcom team behind Resident Evil could do that easily. Damn I tip my hat to those guys/girls.
 
True to that. Also the person who maps will lead the whole dev team for Hl2. You could look as that as an advantage or a burden. Lol Depends on the person.
