Is Star Trek dead?

I never found Star Trek interesting. Still don't. But, let's face it. Star Wars is good in the expanded universe. Episode V is the only real highlight with the movies.

I personally can't stand the original series, it's way too campy for my tastes. IMO Star Trek starts and ends with The Next Generation. The new series were just mooching off it.
