Is tf2 turning into a role playing game?

It's some kind of mystical glitch.

They don't change anything.

Yeah, I noticed that the other day. I'm pretty sure they're just random numbers. They don't affect anything.

I know they don't affect anything yet, but I'm thinking about what might happen when they implement item trading. Sorry I didn't make that clear.

I would be more inclined to believe it was a glitch if the whole idea of having 'levels' for the weapons wasn't pointless in the first place. If it does turn out to be nothing, fine, I'll rest easy.

I don't know why they're bothering with weapon trading in the first place. EVERYBODY IN THE AUDIENCE GETS FREE WEAPONS!

I don't know. It seems to me they'd be better off just having everything available from the start.

TF2 has...different game modes

TFC doesn't
The fuck did you just say?

TF2 gametypes:
Capture the flag
Capture points
Attack/defend
Territory control
Payload
Arena

TFC gametypes:
Capture the flag
Reverse capture the flag
Capture points
Attack/defend
Territory control
Payload
1v1 ("Mulch" game type)
Team Deathmatch
Hunted
Football ("Push" game type)
Murderball
Co-op
King of the Hill (the recent soldier post on TF2 blog indicates we might be getting this in TF2)
Escape
Flag run
Destruction ("Invect3" and "SpacedOut" game type; destroying the enemy's base)

You have never played TFC. Ever. Do not lie to me.

Also guys on the topic of 'RPG or not' and unlocking/trading weapons, don't forget Valve said they want to look into giving users UNIQUE weapons as well. An RPG aspect if I ever heard one.

If they hold true on that 'unique weapons' threat, then I think it will probably come in the form of leveled weapons.

Part of me thinks it's a neat idea, if only because I enjoy having things other people don't (can't) have.

But the other part of me says HORRIBLE IDEA GODDAMN THIS IS AN FPS

Even if it is getting more characteristics found in many rpgs, I wouldn't say its a terribly bad thing.

More options such as weapons and stuff are never a bad thing, they only give the player more option. The main action is still a team FPS and far from being an rpg.

I just hope I can trade multiple things for one thing because Allah knows it's going to take a lot of ****ing sandviches to get me a fedora.

Allah will never smile on you or your filthy, sacrilegious baloney sandviches.

More options don't always make a better game.

In this case, I don't think they make a better TF2.
