The reason Im asking is because this mod was available on the platinum addition of half life 1
it also explains what happened between half life 1 and half life 2 but its not available on steam so i was wandering if its considered canon?

Definitely not. Only Valve games are canon.

blue shift opposing force and decay were made by gearbox and this mod was packaged with half life 1 platinum so it cant be as simple as definetly not because it wasnt made by valve nice try though.

I think the Gearbox games should be considered canon, as Valve keeps releasing them always packed along with HL1.

Also mods, well some mods like Poke646 have nothing to do with Valve but the story fits in, it just tells a story of a different man.

Opposing Force, Blue Shift and Decay were developed by Gearbox and also by Valve Software. And they are of course canon.

what does canon mean anyway?

It means its part of the official storyline. If something is non-canon it's usually non-VALVe creations, like parts of what Gearbox did in Opposing Force and Blue Shift, or fan creations.

Oh, and ease up on the posting a bit, you're teetering on the precipice of spamming.

Taking the piss out of mods is ill advised...

Cheers.

hang on why is this spamming?

You are listed as the last poster on thirteen threads in this section alone, whereof eleven were made today. Just slow down a bit. You don't have to post in every g-man thread you see, especially since you've created your own.

Oh, and also double posting is against the rules. FYI.

i never actually read the forum rules properly; i didnt know double posting was against them.
