You should make up your own mind really. We can't for you.

But do you have to start so many threads? :)

yes yes i do indeed, i want a phone thats got me on caps lock if u no wat i mean, lol. Once again that was hilarious.
Thanks but anyway.

samsung = stupid fashion phones, only koreans like them
e700 = crap (trust me)

but so is LG B2100 soooo....

In my opinion, Samsung are one of the most reliable mobile phone companies out there. I've had two Samsung phones and have never had a problem with either. (X600 and currently enjoying my D500) Their interface is nicely set out and the buttons are in logical positions. The cameras are of top quality and the output sound is crystal clear.

In the end it's up to you, but you can't go far wrong with a Samsung.

Samsung=Sh*t-packing homosexuals. (Or at least, that's how freaking chipper the things make me feel)

Go Nokia. The European models are especially nice.

What! You son of a... No. Must remain calm.

But, as I work for a major US cell phone company, I am rather fond of Nokias as oppossed to other brands. Samsungs are all right, but not very customizable, same with Motorolas. The reason I like Nokias is that you can get all kinds of fun stuff for their Symbian OS, and everything else just sticks to the OS that that company uses. Noted, there are some phones coming from alternate companies using diferrent software (Motorola using Linux, so on), but Nokia's just get such freaking great reception.

What Cell Phone company do you work for?

T-Mobile USA. Honestly, I don't care which cell provider you have, but Nokia is the best phone maker out there. I wouldn't buy anything else.

No defensive. I love the company. Had it for years before I started working there. Once I did starting working there I realized what a titanic cluster-f*ck other companies are (since I was researching it), and love every moment. It's just such a fun company to work for. Plus, Catherine Zeta-Jones FTW.

The majority of Nokia phones don't use Symbian...

Of course they dont, just like the 95% of the mobile phones :rolling:

Yeah. Just the best ones though.

Actually, I can't think of any that don't. Whether series 40 or 60, I think all modern Nokias do.

I like Verizon LG phones. I'm in the gaming business (mobile gaming that is :p), and the LGs have the fewest things wrong with them in terms of porting games to them. But that's hardly a factor if you're looking to get a quick cheap phone now, is it?

Another site that's got phone reviews as well as side-by-side comparisons is www.phonescoop.com ... I can't find the e700 on that site, but it's the same as the American e715. This means it's not particularly impressive, but it's solid enough. No speaker though.

I know nothing about the LG b2100, but I'm already turned off by its design.

Nokias are also good across the lot of 'em, but I'm not a huge fan of their OS.

What a coincidence :)

We're aiming mainly at the Symbian OS Nokias at the moment, but we're also playing with the new ATI 3D chipset phones. Nice stuff.

How are those ATI chipsets anyway? I've been hearing good things, but would like an opinion of someone who has actually used them.

Currently though, Symbian FTW.

Heh, I've not actually got my hands on one yet. My boss has sent the occasional picture over (it's about the size of a brick...) but I just get a job spec and a design brief and come up with the goods. It could easily run something like Quake/Quake 2 (probably even HL), assuming you had enough memory and storage.

I've only been developing in java and brew, probably part of the reason I'm lukewarm about Nokia...

Only series 60 & 90 run on symbian because they were built to be on top of the symbian kernel. :p

Maybe technically. But there is a version of Nokia software known as Symbian 40 series. The 3220, 6101, 6610; they all use it.

wolvesrdogs: the samsung isn't that bad. If I were to choose between those two phones I'd take the samsung. Partially because I like clamshell-style phones (makes me feel like the screen is better-protected).
