I use the arrow keys to move, but when I let up on the key I keep moveing for a little bit, I slide. Is there a fix for this?

I do not presume everyone does things the same, I just don't understand why you wouldn't. I assume you are trying to say you use the mouse in your left hand, but that is awfully odd and harder to do, regardless if you are left-handed. Gaming has always been done in one perspective, regardless of which hand is your primary. I would call what you do a bad habit that slows you down I'm sure.
