I really want to play Castlevania for PSP, but I don't want to play the stupid SNES version, I'd preferably play the PS1 versions, where you can equip and hold different items in an inventory... can anyone help me out, I've got a craving for Castlevania, and not a crappy one!!

I don't think there is an official Castlevania game for the PSP. There's a few for the DS/GBA but not for the PSP. I need to get the latest Castlevania for my DS Lite.

I remember reading somewhere that Sony plans to have the entire PS1 catalogue of games being emulated onto the PSP for sale. But yeah, there are currently no Castlevania games for the PSP but I'd be surprised if they don't churn one out for it somewhere in the future. How about the GBA (or another consoles) versions of Castlevania?

Copying Nintendo again? *sigh*

Just load up a Playstation emulator and get a ROM of SOTN. I made one from my original PS1 disc and love it...on the PC. No official PSP love from the Castlevania guys yet. Sorry.

Oh, and don't ever say that "the SNES" Castlevania is crappy. First of all, there's like 3 for the SNES and at least 2 for the Genesis. Have some fun with those before badmouthing! :frown:

Wait, you're saying they have a functional PS1 emulator for the PSP now? :eek:

I own a SNES with Dracula X and I've played one other one (Vampires Kiss, I think), they aren't as good as the one I own from the PS1....

"Riiiiiidge Raaaaacer!" Kaz Hirai's famous declaration at Sony's E3 media breifing might not have garnered much applause, but, according to UK PSP Magazine, there are plenty of other emulated PlayStation titles (for the PSP) that will. These five AAA titles should be available when the emulation service launches:

* Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
* Final Fantasy VII
* Final Fantasy VIII
* Silent Hill
* Tomb Raider

A download system for old games?

Either way, I can't think of many PS1 games that I would buy whereas I can think of atleast 20 Nintendo games I would.

Sony's doing this for their portable while Nintendo's doing it for the new console. Seems to me they are pretty different situations :|

I am saying that if they have one, by all means, load it up! Not having a PSP I don't really stay abreast of all of the emulation options. I am sure its only a matter of time before someone gets it up and running though. And SOTN kicks a huge amount of ass, but I am still really fond of Simon's Quest and Castlevania III. :)

SOTN (PS1) kicks a huge amount of ass, but I am still really fond of Simon's Quest and Castlevania III (NES). :)

SoTN is the best, no doubt. Alucard kicked Richter's ass, and won the heart of a woman he knew for about 5 minutes. He also pwned Dracula, but don't they all?

Poor dracula, supposedly feared by all but he keeps getting his ass whooped. :|
