Is there anyway to spawn a sniper?

I've tried the give weapon_sniperrifle but it doesnt work.

There's no such weapon in HL2

If you notice, you never actually see a combine sniper or a combine sniper rifle.

The weapon is listed in cheats for the Beta version of HL2 and perhaps this cheat list sometimes mistakenly gets posted as applying to the full version of HL2 as well.

It was never included in the full game, I don't know about the Beta.

well what are combine snipers using?

Enemy weapons aren't necessarily real usable weapons. Just use the Crossbow instead.
