Is there any way to make it so that a Scanner in my map will not be able to be grabbed or blasted with the Grav Gun? I can't figure out any way to do this. (and don't say changing code, I'm not chaning any damn code). And also I've got it so that this scanner is indestructible, so guns do nothing to it.

Don't think you can (Without changing the code, you lazy bastard).

a scanner?
u mean like you go up to it... press your use bitton and then it loads something?

i dont think its possible unless theres some barrier u can use to not pick them up

You could parent some kind of invisible box to it... that might work.

I was actually thinking about that too. I just worry about that making it so you cant shoot it at all. Being able to shoot it is just the sort of neat part about it being there.

And by Scanner....I mean the scanners in HL2.....flying eye combine robots.....they were called Scanners.

I'm not sure if this would work, but could you make a func_brush or func_physbox with a toolsblockbullets texture, and parent it to your scanner npc? I'm pretty sure you can parent to players/npc, but I'm not sure if block_bullets blocks grav gun, though I assume it would...

hmm. bummer. some kind of surface might. transparent maybe. transluscent fence textures prevent grav-gun from working so I think something should work.

Possible with invisible boxes probably, if it's not going to be moving.

I'm starting to rethink my scanner and I'm beggening to thing that grabbing it isn't a bad thing. I think people will have fun being able to grab it and if it gets stuck somewhere then so be it. If people will be grabing it so much it probably wont matter. But thanks for the bit of help. Mabie someone will profit from this infor in the future :)
