Isnt the HL2 preload a "gold" proof?

It sounds funny to pre-load a incomplete game.

Um off topic though since this thread has been made a million times and i dont wanna make my own, in hl1 when you shot a security guard in the foot or in the gun with a sniper rifle.. they died. Um, thats not gunna happen in hl2 will it? That always really bothered me.. last time i checked ppl dont die when shot in the foot.. and they really dont die when shot in the gun (Being held in their hand) Anyone actually have any idea?

srry if anyone said it already.. but I did not browsed trough the whole thread to find out.

Dude, so you want to wait EVEN longer for your steam download to finish downloading.. now you have the chance to pre-load all the heavy stuff, like the gig worth on audio files, all the textures that take huge amount of space to already preload so that you only need to download the code. saves loads of time, especcially for the kids with 56k modems, you would be suprised how many of them there are

CZ was 1.2 gigs, it preloaded one week in advance, no wait it was 1.58 gigs of GCF files including Deleted Scenes.

Valve said they're going to release HL2 on steam and in stores at the same time. You might be able to play HL2 on steam a couple hours before because stores might not be open yet but it won't be that much of a difference.
