This is a human conceived concept, and one who's significance is zilch. Assuming they're both doing the math, both equations using either one or .9999 in practical use are the same.

See, because of answers it doesnt matter because in the end your product is one.

Whether you think you're doing 1 + 0 or .9... + .0...1, you end up with 1 at the end. The final 1 in the equation is what matters, not whether you think .9... is a literal or approximate representation of one. So no, it's not a regression.

Refusing a mathematical truth say about geometric properties, etc would be regressive.
