For my money there are 4 main favourites.

France, England, Italy, Portugaul

for obvious reasons,

France returning champions with great squad, sure they ****ed up at the last world cup but that was an wierd tourny with lots of strange results but I dont see it happening again. Will make the final

England have a good squad , in my opinion they dont have the right attitude a lot of the time and the rio drugs debacle didnt do them any favours and really their record over the past couple of years barring two very good wins against Argentina in the world cup and the Germany drubbing they have simply not had the consitency for me, sure they have ground out the results but is grinding out results against the likes of greece and japan etc really what your looking for from the team available? Sven is not the best man for the job and I'll leave it at that.


Italy have a proven track record and at the moment as well as their usual solid defending have been playing more attacking football, plus like France they want to get over a disappointing Wolrd Cup and probably get some revenge for losing out in 2000.

Portugaul because it's the golden generations last chance I think. In scolari they have a world cup winning coach who has made a good blend of the old generation and the up and coming guys like ronaldo. Plus home support and advantage. If anyone doubts what that can do look at South Korea absolutely inspired in the last cup.

Spain have a class team but as everybody knows never really do much. The Czechs on their day can do any team some serious damage So I wouldnt be surprised to see them in at least the quarter finals.

As for germany and holland? The worst team in recent times combined with the usual propensity for implosion respectively.

Oh and sweden for the quarters I think as well

You're probably right about the Germans (lost 5-1 against Romania?) and the Dutch (such a lot of excellent players Van Nistelrooy, Mackaay, Davids) put absolute poop up till now. Well, 1 exception: 6-1 against Scotland

I think there will be a high change England will be out of the first round. England, always overrated and according to statistics they aint doing well at European Championships. They got a strong midfield but their forwards....

Strong teams: France, Italy and Portugal (host countries are always strong)

Good outsiders: Czech, Sweden and Holland!

Germany, as always like playing to underdog position. Alot of people saying Germany won't survive Group D... I don't know. I hope atleast Holland beats those Germans

heh, i grew up in oklahoma city.. and i played soccer when i was a kid. so did my brother. my dad was a coach one of my teams even. i wish i had kept it up in college.. oh well.
