Iter

I dunno, that peak oil guy says we're gonna run out of oil before we get the chance to finish this thing. Wouldnt that suck...

when i smell like cheese sniff, i dont think that will be anytime soon, sniff sniff

Hehe, we studied plasma fusion reactors in my physics A-level, they take an enormous amount of energy to get going, they havn't created anything that is worthwhile yet but soon they should have something that has a reasonable yield.
Like clarky says they eat power using electromagnets, these actually force the plasma into the torroid, if it touches the side it disperses instantly, with plasmas there is so much energy that particles are "single", so much energy they hardly effect each other and spread.

And good old cold fusion, i remember hearing about some americans that claimed to have achieved it with $100 of lab equipment and everyone went absolutley crazy, after all it is "free" safe energy, they found out pretty quickly they had made an error and also worked out that if it would have worked they would have been killed by radiation from it.

When they develop cheaper energy i can start playing around with my railguns more!!
(also might just be *slightly* useful for the world and transport)

EDIT: Oh and clarky, i had a look over that M.E.G site the other day when you posted it, i can see the principle, but i am sure it does not work for the same reason you cannot draw a voltage from a planes wings as it cuts electrical fields, despite a voltage being there.

It is based around a hydrogen plasma torus operating at over 100 million °C, and will produce 500 MW of fusion power.
0_0 I wonder what would happen if you put one of those things in a vibrator.... :naughty:

Its not the same principal, it uses the flux of a magnet alternating it through the main C coil, which induces current in the reciever coils... it does work, the recorded input and output voltages are recorded and if you did really look around carefully there is an image of this powering light's of sort's.. because the natural flux field of the magnet is constantly replenished from the vacuum you can constantly induce that current through fast alternation's in the induction coil's. read through it a bit more carefully,, you obviously havnt seen the result's recorded by the third party, as it is a third party device.

and to correct you on cold fusion.. hot fusion gives off radiation.. cold fusion does not, mainstream science is baffled by this for some reason, probably because they invest alot more in hot fusion .
