My exams do not begin until the latter part of May. Before all that I need to turn in an essay on philosophical anthropology, due in five days. It's stressful because I left it till a couple of days ago to get stuck in. There's quite a lot to do before I can actually begin the writing.
So I can't think about me exams just yet.
The oral exam seems quite prevalent over there in the Scandinavian education systems - it's a totally alien system to me in terms of non-linguistic studies, as here in the UK they seem pretty much confined to languages.
My next academic year will be spent in Denmark where there's a chance I'll be having oral exams for my modules, which are in Philosophy and Politics. That's a huge glaring chunk of fear in a mass of otherwise ecstatic anticipation for me. Gah. I'll be far too shy and nervous for that. :|
I'm an studying language, though (German), so it's quite natural Although it does exist in other subjects as well, mainly in the Humanities (philosophy, history, literature, visual arts etc.). I'm not aware that it exists very much within the Social and Natural sciences, but I could be wrong.
Pfft, Mellish you're in the pathetic shitty year with nothing much to worry about. My exams start 18th of May with the hardest out of all of the exams I am taking.
I'm only taking three classes this semester, and I only have two exams left... and this project where I have to design an entire butanol plant with fermentation tanks and distillation columns and crap. Just typing up sample calculations will take at least 6 hours, and this is after we've already done the actual spreadsheet calculations. Fun times.....
I cope by eating chocolate. If it were three years ago, I might actually study.
