Is the middle-click to close tabs thing an extension or an option (I'm too lazy to look on my own FF)? Either way that's what I use to close tabs without first switching to them.bam23 said:They go up in tabs for me. >.<
It's annoying because I have to change to that tab before I can close it.

FF's own popularity will make it end up just like IE.Discussion on internet advertisement message boards reveals that code has been developed to pop-under adverts that can't pop-up because of browser blocking. We are expecting to see an increased number of pop-unders over the next few weeks, as browser programmers play catch-up.
Some big name sites continue to encourage the use of pop unders. So it's really the publishers pandering to the advertisers that are to blame. It was ever thus.

If that's so then why is there pop-ups all of a sudden?Which everyone suspects to grow.bliink said:for every ad, theres a way around it! especially when you have a massive open source developer base like FF does :naughty:
Its the computing power of billions of nerds on their beowolf clusters! Its like the "infinite number of monkeys" thing! (which is better than the 100 or so monkeys that must be coding IE )
* bliink is a FF zealot
Add the offending sites to your hosts fileTr0n said:If that's so then why is there pop-ups all of a sudden?Which everyone suspects to grow.
Doesn't matter if it's open source or not.
It's logic...the bigger something becomes the bigger the target and more people shoot at it.
Ok we've been through this before my friend. The Dark Elf said:Add the offending sites to your hosts file
add the address to adblock
improve your adblock filter list http://www.geocities.com/pierceive/adblock/
turn off javascript as a last resort.
Set things up right and FF doesn't get bothered by even a fraction of what appears on IE.
No I meant to quote you, you seem to be the one having a problem with pop-ups or atleast the one going on about themTr0n said:Ok we've been through this before my friend.
I haven't got any pop-ups/ad-ware/spyware or any of that shit...so I don't see the problem.
Edit: Or was you quoting someone else and accidently quoted me?
It's only really javascript thats the problem. Not as easy to fix as the other things, FF being built up from scratch to be able to simply ignore things being opened.Tr0n said:Oh no problems what so ever...I'm just stating a fact.
Bigger something gets the bigger the target...simple.
I did switch before.Like I said...I downloaded opera and ff to try them out for a few days.Hazar said:once you switch you'll never go back....
Just mouse3-click on the tab.bam23 said:They go up in tabs for me. >.<
