Why would Steam have an error of shutting down in the first place? How can shutting down go wrong?

You'll notice your energy bill severely decrease if you do switch it off off. Even if you're on there for eight hours a day, that's still sixteen hours a day multiplied by three hundred and sixty five days a year. It all adds up.

You'd be surprised how on an electronic component is when it's off.

Ninja: Most things (such as your monitor) just go into standby, and your speakers are more than likely to be on.
