I worked for British Gas (a gas supplier in Britain, duh 
) as a customer service and sales representative and I was sacked today. Basically I'm actually employed through an agency called Hays as a temporary worker and I work in a building run by a company called Astron. One of Astron's clients was BG and I was working on a BG contract taking calls from BG customers.
Anyway occasionally in my job we have to contact other departments and transfer customers through and on a call last night that's what I was doing. The customer was on hold and the other department was ringing and I was waiting for them to answer. However, I had forgotten to take the customer's telephone number so I expressed my forgetfulness with "SHIT!".
All calls are recorded, but despite the fact that there was no customer, no important clients in the building and no other departments actually on the line to hear me - they've sacked me
I'm now jobless.
